Berseem Clover (S)

·         Soft seeded annual clover

·         Adapted to a wide range of soils, especially heavy soils

·         Able to withstand water logging

·         Can be sown in combination with annual or short rotation ryegrass

·         Suited to neutral to alkaline soils

Berseem clover is adapted to a wide range of soil types, especially heavier soils, as it is able to withstand water logging. When sown in February/March it can be grazed or cut 3 – 6 times from late autumn to spring under good conditions (700mm + rainfall or irrigation). Sown in combination with annual or short rotational ryegrass, berseem greatly improves the quality of hay or feed produced. Reports suggest there is limited bloat potential with berseem when grazing compared to other annual clovers like balansa. More suited to neutral to alkaline soils.

Sowing Rate: 10 – 20 kg/ha alone, 2 – 6 kg/ha
